Three generations…

Arran on a Plate is a family partnership between Chris, Jan and Richard Attkins.

Combining his passion for cooking with his love of the ballroom, Chris' father was well known as the dancing chef in post-war London.

Chris grew up in the business when his mother converted their family home into a Country Club in the 1950s. Since relocating to the Isle of Arran in 1997, Chris & Jan have catered for over 15,000 guests at Belvedere, their family-run guest house in Brodick.

At the age of 16, their youngest son Richard began his chef's training in the Highlands, specialising in local Scottish cuisine. He progressed through Michelin-starred establishments in France and at home before taking on the responsibilities of Head Chef at distinctive restaurants in Surrey and Sussex. Coincident with opening Arran on a Plate, Richard was awarded the prestigious Master Chef of Great Britain status - an accolade shared by fewer than 300 culinary professionals throughout the UK.
