About the Artworks

The Mural

When converting the premises we commissioned local artist Hazel Currie to paint the mural that covers the entire rear wall of the restaurant. Most artists would be daunted at the prospect of tackling a 40 foot blank 'canvas', but not Hazel, who completed the commission in oils, in six weeks. Combining key landmarks from all over the island, Hazel's mural faithfully depicts Arran's varied landscape, from the 4,000 year-old standing stones at Machrie to Primrose Cottage at Thunderguy.

The Paintings

In the bar you will find colourful limited edition prints by local artist George Christie and in the restaurant we feature original paintings by Philip Raskin, whose work is in great demand all over the world. All pictures are for sale.
